BEVERLY HILLS – Actor Jamie Foxx was attacked at a popular Beverly Hills restaurant while celebrating his birthday, prompting a fight that caused police to be called, according to multiple reports Saturday.

Officers were dispatched at about 10:10 p.m. Friday to Mr. Chow at 344 N. Camden Drive, to a reported possible assault with a deadly weapon, the Beverly Hills Police Department reported.

“Upon investigation, officers determined that the reported assault with a deadly weapon was unfounded,” according to a police statement.

“Instead, the incident involved a physical altercation between parties. The BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and completed a report documenting the battery.”

No arrests were made.

TMZ and ABC7, both citing a representative for the Oscar-winning actor, reported that Foxx was struck by a glass thrown by someone at another table and eventually required stitches.

“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth,” the representative told TMZ.

Attempts to reach Foxx’s reps for confirmation were not immediately successful.

Foxx, who turned 57 on Friday, attended the gathering with his daughters Corinne and Anelise, and ex Kristin Grannis, according to TMZ and The Daily Mail.

The actor‘s birthday dinner took place just a few days after the release of his Netflix special, “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…”

In the special, the Oscar and Grammy winner recounts his medical emergency in April 2023, confirming that he suffered a stroke that almost killed him while filming “Back in Action.”

On Dec. 9, Foxx thanked fans in a video he posted on Instagram.

“Just want to jump on and say thank you to everybody that prayed,” Foxx wrote in the caption. “It’s a blessing to be in the position that I’m in to be able to tell you my story in my way… I hope the jokes make you laugh and I hope the story inspires you.”
