‘Wicked,’ ‘Conclave’ lead Critics Choice Awards nominations
LOS ANGELES – “Conclave” and “Wicked” each earned a leading 11 nominations Thursday for the 30th annual Critics Choice Awards, while “Dune:Part Two” and “Emilia Pérez” both collected 10 nods.
All four films were nominated for best picture, along with “A Complete Unknown,” “Anora,” “The Brutalist,” “Nickel Boys,” “Sing Sing” and “The Substance.”
“Anora,” “Conclave,” “Emilia Pérez,” “Saturday Night,” “Sing Sing” and “Wicked” were nominated for best acting ensemble.
“Conclave” was also earned nominations for Ralph Fiennes for best actor and Isabella Rossellini for supporting actress. “Wicked” scored a best actress nod for Cynthia Erivo and a supporting actress nomination for Ariana Grande.
Nominated along with Fiennes for best actor were Adrien Brody for “The Brutalist,” Timothée Chalamet for “A Complete Unknown,” Daniel Craig for “Queer,” Colman Domingo for “Sing Sing” and Hugh Grant for “Heretic.”
Erivo will compete for best actress honors against Karla Sofía Gascón of “Emilia Pérez,” Marianne Jean-Baptiste for “Hard Truths,” Angelina Jolie of “Maria,” Mikey Madison for “Anora” and Demi Moore for “The Substance.”
The awards will be presented Jan. 12 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica and broadcast on E!. The show will be available for streaming on Peacock on Jan. 13.
