How NFL star Josh Allen proposed to Fil-Am actress Hailee Steinfeld
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen recently revealed a softer, more romantic side of him as he shared the details of his recent proposal to Filipino American actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld.
In an interview for Steinfeld’s Beau Society fashion newsletter, Allen recalled the anxiety he felt ahead of the big moment.
The proposal took place in Malibu, California. Despite his reputation for thriving under pressure on the football field, Allen admitted that the proposal was an entirely different ballgame.
“I think I was most nervous about you finding out about the proposal,” Allen confessed, describing the lengths he went to in keeping the surprise intact. “It was hard to keep secrets from you and to have other people in your life keep secrets, too.”
Allen’s emotions nearly gave him away several times throughout the day. He recounted tearing up when certain songs played, overwhelmed by thoughts of how meaningful the occasion would be.

The proposal wasn’t just a spur-of-the-moment act. According to Allen, the “Pitch Perfect” star had casually brought up marriage earlier that day, making the timing even more special.
The athlete further recounted expressing his eagerness to take the next step in their relationship, sharing heartfelt sentiments about starting a family together.
He revealed that he addressed the actress-singer by her full name as he made his proposal. The “Capital Letters” hitmaker, taken by surprise, happily accepted, a moment that the NFL figure described as the only thing that truly mattered to him that day, with the sun shining brightly overhead.
Their engagement announcement on Nov. 29, accompanied by a sweet photo on both their Instagram, thrilled fans of the NFL star and the Hollywood actress.
Reflecting on their engagement, Allen described his fiancée as someone extraordinary – loving, caring, gorgeous, fun and full of happiness
