In the fast-paced digital age, social media often serves as the go-to platform for quick updates.

When it comes to finding information quickly, Wikipedia continues to be the go-to resource for millions worldwide.

With millions of articles continuously updated by contributors globally, it has become the direct source for many seeking both broad overviews and deep dives into specific subjects.

However, while it offers speed and accessibility, the accuracy of the content often depends on the contributors, making it essential for users to cross-check facts when necessary.

This year, the Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit organization behind Wikipedia, shared its annual list of the most-viewed English-language pages, revealing the topics that piqued the global audience.

According to the foundation, Wikipedia amassed over 76 billion global page views this year, as of October.

Topping the list with over 44 million views was the page titled Deaths in 2024. This underscores the public’s perennial interest in notable passings. Remarkably, this page has claimed the number one spot five times since the foundation began releasing such data in 2015.

Political figures and events dominated the rankings as well. Vice President Kamala Harris took the second spot with nearly 29 million views, reflecting her prominence in discussions leading up to the 2024 US presidential election.

The election itself came in third, amassing close to 28 million views as people sought updates on one of the year’s most pivotal events. Meanwhile, Donald Trump is at No. 5.
