It was a dream come true for Filipino American nurse Helen Grace Arceo when she won a house and lot worth P1.8 million in a Department of Tourism (DOT) raffle for the “Bisita, Be My Guest” (BBMG) campaign.

Arceo, who also registered as a sponsor for her husband and invitee Juan Arceo III,  also got a four-day, three-night stay at The Marison Hotel in Legazpi, Albay, plus round-trip tickets to Legazpi, provided by Cebu Pacific.

The grand prize was presented to her earlier this week at the DOT Central Office. The presentation was led by DOT officials, including Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco and Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano. Also attending the event were representatives from Amaia Land Corp. and the Arceo family.

The Fil-Am nurse expressed her gratitude during the ceremony. “I thank the Department of Tourism for having this BBMG incentive program, “ Arceo said.

In a social media post, DOT Secretary Frasco said the “Bisita, Be My Guest” incentive program provides overseas Filipinos and OFWs with chances to win raffle prizes in exchange for inviting foreigners to visit the Philippines.

“At the heart of the Bisita, Be My Guest program is a movement, an emotion, and the reason that drives us to continue to champion Philippine tourism—love. Love of country, love of family, and love of family values that are so distinctively Filipino,” Frasco said.

BBMG participants were given raffle entries for a chance to win exciting prizes — from house and lot to travel vouchers.

Some lucky participants in the second raffle took home exciting prizes, including shopping vouchers, vacation packages and round-trip tickets for international and domestic travel.

Meanwhile, anticipation is high for the grand raffle draw, slated for Dec.16, promising more prizes, including a condominium unit.

In collaboration with the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines and the Department of Migrant Workers, the “Bisita, Be My Guest” program continues to encourage overseas Filipinos and OFWs to invite family members and friends to explore Philippine tourism destinations.

Frasco said that in launching the “Bisita, Be My Guest” program around the world, she has “felt from our fellow kababayans abroad a very deep love of the Philippines and a longing to come home, as well as this unbridled excitement to share the beauty of our country (with) family and friends.”
