Meet Filipino Australian Olympic breakdancer Jeff Dunne
In the historic 2024 Paris Olympics, where breaking made its debut as a medal sport, Filipino American breakdancer Logan Edra, also known as “Logistx” in the dance world, wasn’t the only Filipino dancing.
Jeff Dunne, a 16-year-old Filipino Australian student competing under the name “J-Attack,” also stepped onto the Olympic stage, showcasing his skills against some of the world’s top breakers.
Representing Australia, Dunne, who now resides in Northern New South Wales on the Tweed Coast, was adopted by the Dunne family when he was just a year old and brought to Australia from the Philippines.
Despite being the youngest in the competition, he entered with determination, facing off against seasoned athletes like the 2022 World Champion, Phil Wizard from Canada, 2023 European Games winner, Dany Dann from France and Ukraine’s Kuyza.
Reflecting on his Olympic debut, Dunne expressed gratitude in an Instagram post, saying, “I would just like to say a huge thanks to everyone for your amazing support. I went out there and did my best. I’m proud of myself at 16 to say I’m an Olympian.”

Although Dunne lost 2-0 to Phil Wizard, who eventually claimed the gold medal, the experience was invaluable. Dunne acknowledged the challenge of competing against such high-caliber athletes, noting, “Knowing that I got to battle [Phil Wizard] congrats on winning GOLD and [Dany Dann] congrats on winning SILVER both in my round robin just showed what I was up against.”
Far from being discouraged, Dunne sees this as the start of his journey in breaking.
“For me, this is just the beginning of my breaking journey. I will be training just as hard and competing around the world. Can’t wait to see where this ride takes me,” he shared.
With his sights set on future competitions, the Filipino Australian is determined to continue honing his craft, ready to take on the global stage once again.
