More than 40,000 off-road motorcycles are being recalled due to crash and injury hazards, according to a notice published recently by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

American Honda Motor is recalling the 2023-2024 off-road motorcycles because “the grip can detach from the handlebar, posing crash and injury hazards,” CPSC said.

The recall affects about 40,700 motorcycles with model numbers CRF50F, CRF110F and CRF125F.

The CRF50F and CRF110F models were sold in red or white colors. The CRF125F was sold in red color.

Each of the off-road motorcycles has “HONDA” printed on the seats, and the model number is printed on the motorcycle frame above the engine. The vehicle identification number (VIN) can be found on the left side of the steering head on all models.

You can check if your VIN is included in the recall at Honda Powersports & Motorcycle Recalls.

There has been one report of a crash that resulted in a knee injury. Anyone with this off-road motorcycle is asked to stop using it and schedule an appointment for a free inspection and repair.

The motorcycles were sold nationwide at Honda dealers from September 2022 through May 2024.

CPSV also announced the recall of nearly 1 million power adapters sold with sound machines marketed to help infants and young children sleep.

The plastic surrounding the AC power adapter that was supplied with some of Hatch’s Rest 1st generation sound machines can come off when removing the product from an outlet, leaving its prongs exposed. That increases risks of electric shock.

There have been 19 reports of the plastic housing surrounding the adapter coming off, including two instances of consumers getting a minor electric shock, the CPSC said.

The recall is specific to power adapters supplied by Jiangsu Chenyang Electron Co., Hatch said in a company announcement, adding that it is no longer sourcing from Jiangsu Chenyang for its products.
