OPM band Itchyworms to hold shows in Canada this year

Longtime viewers of “It’s Showtime” will recognize Jugs Jugueta as a member of the OPM rock band Itchyworms. Since the onset of their 2024 tour, he has been announcing the dates and cities for the band’s “Akin Ka Na Lang” tour in different countries.
After recently gracing Taiwan, the band prepares to stage a highly anticipated concert tour across Canada this November. Dubbed “Akin Ka Na Lang… Canada!,” the tour will see the band performing in four major cities, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Toronto.

Itchyworms will kick off their tour in the maple country in Vancouver on Nov. 1 at The Centre, followed by performances at The Palace Theatre in Calgary on Nov. 3, Club Regent Event Centre in Winnipeg on November 8 and culminating at The Concert Hall in Toronto on Nov 10.
Adding to the excitement, the Itchyworms announced on social media that their former guitarist, Chino Singson, will be joining them for this tour. For those unfamiliar, Singson moved to Canada after leaving the band in Sept. 2022.
The band’s Instagram post read, “[The Itchyworms] are so excited to play with [Chino Singson] again! We hope to see you all soon!”
It will definitely be a moment of nostalgia as the 1996 rock band perform their OPM hits like “Akin Ka Na Lang,” “Beer” and “‘Di Na Muli” among others.
The reception was evident in their Taiwan shows where Jugueta took to Instagram to show their gratitude as the “first-ever Filipino artist” to perform in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
“Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na ang @theitchyworms ang pinaka-UNANG Filipino artist na nakaperform sa Kaohsiung, Taiwan!,” the post continued. “Feeling namin kami si Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin eh!
Alam niyo, napakadami nating Kababayan ang nasa Taiwan, at miss na miss na nila ang Pilipinas. Hindi lang sa Kaohsiung, kungdi pati sa Taichung, Taipei, atbp!”

The band further promised to give Overseas Filipino Workers a slice of home. “Message niyo lang kami if you have any questions. Hindi kami producer ha? But maybe, we can hook you up with people who can help.”
