Vina Morales’ Chicago show canceled due to promoter issues
A few days ago, celebrated Filipino singer and actress Vina Morales arrived in the United States for a series of shows. However, her much-anticipated event in Chicago faced an abrupt cancellation.
The icon’s management, Star Magic, announced that the show, which was scheduled to be held on June 2 at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Skokie, Illinois, was canceled due to the promoter’s alleged non-compliance with contractual obligations.
“We are sad to announce that Vina’s show on June 2, 2024, at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, Skokie, Illinois is canceled,” Star Magic wrote in an Instagram post. “We apologize for the inconvenience brought by this unfortunate incident. Thank you for your understanding.”
In a separate post featuring a screenshot of the announcement, the “Sa Puso Ko” songstress disclosed the name of the promoter, saying, “The promoter of this June show is Cristina Peralta.”

Titled “Vina Morales Back in Chicago,” the concert was set to feature a lineup of featured acts like E.R. Fukuda, Alyssa Solomon, Miki Pascual, Caroline, Rose Hipona and supposed to be hosted by Girlie Pascual.
Morales had previously shared her excitement about the event on Instagram, posting a video with the caption: “Oh hello US. Nice to be back. Life’s a journey, just enjoying the ride!”
She also expressed gratitude to the staff of a Filipino airline, writing, “Just a shout out to our kind staff of Philippine Airlines for taking good care of me the whole trip. And love the food dear friend @chefvallerie.”
Additionally, Morales took a moment to congratulate her Filipino American friend and artist, Jefre Manuel Figueras, Jefre Manuel Figueras, for his work of art at the Mabuhay Lounge, saying, “And just want to congratulate my brother from a another mother @jefre_artist for an outstanding work of art at the mabuhay lounge, so proud of you.”
