Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Sour’ is Spotify’s most streamed album by a female artist
As she meets her fans around the globe on her “Guts” world tour, Filipino American pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo continues to rack up accolades and dominate digital platforms.
The Grammy-award winning singer’s 2021 release, the 11-track album “Sour,” has surged to the top as the most streamed album by a female artist in Spotify’s history, setting new benchmarks for success in the music industry.

In a recent press release obtained by PEOPLE, it was revealed that “Sour” has not only earned the title of the most streamed debut album by a female artist in the United States but has also shattered records for the most-streamed album in a week by a female artist on Spotify.
But the “Vampire” hitmaker’s achievements don’t stop there. “Sour” made an impressive debut on the Billboard 200, claiming the coveted No. 1 spot and solidifying its place as the longest-running debut album in the chart’s top 10 of the 21st century.
During the 2021 release, Rodrigo reflected on the deeply personal nature of her music on Instagram, expressing gratitude to her fans for their support throughout her journey.

“Every song is so personal and close to my heart,” she wrote. “Getting to share them with people is the most special thing I’ve ever done in my life. Thank [you] to everyone who made this album happen.”
Recently, Rodrigo unveiled the much-anticipated Asian stops of her GUTS World Tour, with a “Stay tuned Manila” note. The artist has already expressed her desire to tour the Philippines, a sentiment she shared in an interview with Rolling Stone last year.
The upcoming Asian leg, spanning from September to October this year, will see Olivia gracing iconic venues in Seoul on Sept. 20, Hong Kong on Sept. 24, Tokyo on Sept. 27, Singapore on Oct. 1, and even venturing Down Under in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia on Oct. 9, 11, 17 and 18.
