Here’s a summary from the news release provided by Microsoft Asia:

While 83 percent of knowledge workers in Asia-Pacific embrace AI tools for productivity and creativity, 61 percent of leaders express concerns over the lack of a coherent AI implementation strategy.

This dichotomy fuels a trend dubbed “Bring Your Own AI” (BYOAI), wherein 79 percent of APAC AI users procure AI tools independently, bypassing organizational frameworks but risking data integrity.

Meanwhile, AI proficiency emerges as a pivotal recruitment criterion, with 76 percent of Asia-Pacific leaders prioritizing AI skills over experience. This shift is reflected on platforms like LinkedIn, where AI skill mentions surge, driving a notable uptick in job applications.

Moreover, a cohort of “AI power users” emerges, leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows and save time. These individuals integrate AI into their daily routines, signaling a transformative shift in workday dynamics.

Feon Ang, Managing Director of LinkedIn Asia Pacific, highlights this shift, emphasizing the imperative for agility and skill development in navigating the AI-driven landscape.
