Fil-Am lands on Forbes’ list of America’s top CPAs
LOS ANGELES – A Filipino American community leader has been named one of America’s top 200 best certified public accountants (CPAs).
Forbes this week released its inaugural America’s Top 200 CPAs list, which included Van Gerard Dichoso, the Fil-Am CEO of the Dichoso Group of Companies based in Beverly Hills.
Forbes described the list as a “compilation of the finest CPAs active in public practice, culled from a collection of candidates sourced through independent nominations and accolades from every society and association of CPAs” across the nation.
Nominees were rated on a range of criteria, including credentials, expertise, achievements, innovation, thought leadership, experience and service to the community.
“I am honored to receive this prestigious award and thank all of you – clients, colleagues, associates and friends – for this once-in-a lifetime achievement,” Dichoso posted on social media. “Most of all, I thank our Lord God Almighty for bestowing on me such graces and blessings throughout the years.”
Dichoso, past president of the Philippine-American Society of CPAs, has also been named one of Los Angeles Business Journal’s Top 100 Accountants and has received the Spirit Awards Accountancy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Forbes said its list of America’s Top 200 CPAs is “a story of the hundreds of thousands of CPAs who serve the wealth creators, entrepreneurs and taxpayers of America.”
“Whether in taxes, auditing or consulting, CPAs play a vital role in helping companies and individuals solve compliance issues and chart their course for better business solutions,” it said.
Forbes has compiled its 2024 list of the finest practicing CPAs in America following almost a year of research to ensure this selection represents a new standard of excellence for the best in the profession.
“When CPAs cease to act in the public interest, things like Enron happen, things like MCI happen, things like FTX happen,” Forbes added.
“CPAs carry the responsibility of someone standing in between what is purported to be true and what is, demonstrably, true—be that for a Fortune 500 company or for an Uber driver’s personal financial statement.”
