Back in 2018, the brothers came up with the concept behind Bro’s To Go as a solution to the gap in the market for sumptuous but affordable breakfast sandwiches served up without compromising quality.

Staying true to their dreams, they delivered. “We felt that there was a need to bridge a gap between high-quality food and fast service,” the Carlos brothers shared on their website.

This Filipino breakfast joint kicked off in Alberta as a pop-up at The Bro’Kin Yolk, winning palates. Basking in their success with menu experiments in Calgary, they said, “We’re thrilled to hear that Calgary is just as welcoming to the idea and thrilled like we are about this.”

Deep diving into the soul of Filipino cuisine, co-owner Chef Jeff Carlos is all set to show pride in their roots. “At the end of the day we always want to stick with where we came from and flavors that I’ve enjoyed and are familiar with,” he said.

With the celebration of Filipino Restaurant Month in Canada, their menu serves as a sumptuous showcase of Filipino flavors. Longanisa sausage and tocino bacon are among the delish eats all jazzed up in rice bowls, burgers and sandwiches.

Beyond the Filipino breakfast

For Jeff and Gil, Bro’s To Go serves up not just good food but a heart for community change. Sharing their mission with blogTO, they wrote, “We are here to help others, give them an opportunity they never had, teach them life skills they wouldn’t normally learn in school, give them [confidence].”

Filipino Restaurant Month is the best time to try this Filipino breakfast spot in Toronto.. Visit any of their three branches in Canada or order for delivery via Doordash, Uber Eats and Skip.

Brekky? They’re serving a taste of home one Lola Burger at a time.
