Woman drops pregnancy discrimination suit against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
LOS ANGELES – A former nanny for Sean “Diddy” Combs had dropped her pregnancy discrimination lawsuit against the singer regarding her 2021 firing.
The plaintiff, Raven Wales-Walden, sued Diddy, Combs Enterprises LLC and three other companies in Los Angeles Superior Court in September 2022, also alleging retaliation and various state Labor Code violations.
On April 2, her attorney filed court papers with Judge Maureen Duffy-Lewis asking that Wales-Walden’s complaint be dismissed “with prejudice,” meaning it cannot be refiled.
The court papers do not state if a settlement was reached or if Wales-Walden is not pursuing the case for other reasons.
According to an amended complaint brought in April 2023, Wales-Walden was a “niece-like figure” to the late Kim Porter, Diddy’s former romantic partner and the mother of his twin daughters. She was hired as Porter’s personal assistant in September 2018 and helped Porter with creative projects in addition to helping her nanny at the time with the care of Porter’s daughters, the amended suit stated.
A day after Porter died in November 2018 of pneumonia at age 47, Diddy personally asked Wales-Walden to live at his estate and be a full-time nanny to the then-11-year-old twins, D’Lila and Jessie, an offer the plaintiff agreed to in honor of Porter, with whom she was extremely close, the revised complaint further stated.
Diddy fired Wales-Walden in January 2021 “because she was pregnant and unmarried, which purportedly set a bad example for (Diddy’s) daughters,” the amended suit stated.
Diddy is currently facing serious legal issues following numerous allegations of sexual assault, harassment and sex trafficking. On March 25, federal agents raided his Los Angeles and Miami homes. In addition to an investigation from Homeland Security and the federal government, he is also facing four federal lawsuits. A fifth, brought in late 2023 by his ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, which included allegations of rape and physical abuse, was settled and dismissed days after it had been filed.
