Taylor Swift adds her own touch of mystique to the solar eclipse
On April 8, as the rare total solar eclipse, also known as “The Great North American Eclipse,” captured the attention of a lot of people, Grammy-award winning artist Taylor Swift added her own touch of mystique to the celestial event.
As the solar eclipse swept across North America, the “seven” singer took to her Instagram Story with a glimpse into her upcoming album.
Accompanied by the sight of the eclipse on the same day, the global music icon shared a hint regarding her forthcoming song. Linking to pre-order options for her album, she posted a video featuring a typewriter typing out what seemed like a verse.
“Crowd goes wild at her fingertips/Half moonshine, Full eclipse,” the typewriter transcribes.
Swift had Swifties speculating with what seemed to be lunar-themed lyrics from her highly anticipated album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
This teaser arrived amid a 13-day countdown to the album’s release, a nod to the record-breaking artist’s fondness for the number 13. Just two days prior, on April 6, the singer-songwriter, and billionaire initiated the countdown using the same typewriter.
Fans wasted no time dissecting the cryptic words, speculating that they could be snippets from one of the 16 songs on her upcoming 11th studio album, where she had previously disclosed during this year’s Grammy that she has been working for the album for the last two years.
“I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand-new album comes out on April 19,” she shared. “It’s called The Tortured Poets Department.
Notably, the track list, where fans anticipate the meaning behind, is believed to be a soundscape that digs upon her relationship with her ex Joe Alwyn.
The speculation only added to the mounting anticipation surrounding its release on April 19 at 12 p.m. (PST).
