Body of missing Filipino found in Michigan lake

LEELANAU COUNTY, Michigan — The body of a missing Filipino man was found in Lime Lake in Leelanau County Sunday.

The autopsy found no signs of foul play on the body of Gilbert Druja, 34, but the cause and manner of death can’t be finalized until the toxicology report comes back.

Druja went missing Friday morning when his vehicle was found on at the MC Short Stop gas station in Maple City, police said.

The vehicle was running and the gas pump nozzle was in the vehicle, according to a report by Upnorthlive.

Video surveillance footage shows the vehicle driving up to the pump around 3 a.m., and the driver walking away a short time later.

Investigators said Druja left the Leelanau Rustic Resort in Cedar Friday morning to travel back home to Chicago.
