Amid the glitz and glamor of high society, Pia Wurtzbach recently received the People of the Year 2024 award from PeopleAsia for her remarkable contributions to society and her unwavering advocacy for HIV/AIDS awareness and LGBT rights.
Taking to Instagram, the advocate and beauty queen offered a glimpse of her ensemble for the evening—a resplendent, body-hugging, bedazzled gold gown designed by Mark Bumgarner.
Reflecting on her journey since clinching the crown nearly a decade ago, the actress and author expressed gratitude for being recognized with the prestigious accolade.

“Feeling incredibly grateful for receiving the People of the Year award at such a pivotal moment in my journey,” she shared. “As I reflect on the past 10 years since my Miss Universe win, I’m reminded even more of the importance of advocating for HIV/AIDS awareness and LGBT rights.”
She further states that the award symbolizes her dedication to creating a world where everyone feels safe and accepted.
In a stirring call to action, Wurtzbach emphasized the collective effort needed to drive positive change and uplift communities, and that she’s just getting started.
