Shindigs and shamrocks? Here’s where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the Bay Area
Get your green outfits ready because this Sunday, everyone is a wee bit Irish as St. Patrick’s Day festivities bring cheer to the Bay Area and beyond.

From shamrocks and leprechauns to wearing something green, there’s a deeper meaning behind these traditions. St. Patrick’s Day is a religious and cultural holiday in Ireland, honoring one of its patron saints, St. Patrick. In the US, the day marks a historical feast that goes back to the early 18th century.

In 1762, Irish soldiers introduced this holiday to the US with the first ever St.Patrick’s Day parade in New York.
