Fil-Am content creator Chris Punsalan uses his platform to share awareness on the daily routines and lives lived by primary caregivers to family members.

He himself has been taking care of his 97-year-old grandmother, Anicia Santos Manipon, who many know and call “grandma” based on the daily TikToks posted by Punsalan. Because of their heartwarming relationship and videos, many verbally express in the comments of his TikTok how much the pair’s bond reminds them of their own grandparents.

However, on Jan. 29, Monday, Punsalan went online to deliver the most heartbreaking news of his grandmother’s passing, writing, “My heart is broken. Grandma fought so hard and lived such as fruitful life. I’m relieved that she can finally rest and she’s in better hands than we could’ve ever provided. I love you forever grandma.”

Through a recent TikTok video, Punsalan shared that his grandma went peacefully and was surrounded by lots of family. The 30-year-old content creator also took the time to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers while clarifying that their family is not asking for donations nor there is an ongoing fundraiser, reminding everybody to be vigilant of users with his or his grandma’s pictures asking for money.

He emphasized that all the love and support from the online community is more than enough for them. “It’s unfortunate that I even have to say that, but I just don’t want anybody to be giving money to people that are using other people’s names for their own gain.” Punsalan added.

@firstnamechristhank you for all the love & prayers. we are not asking for donations and we did not set up a fundraiser. thank the Lord we are blessed with everything we need. i love you all 👵🏼❤️
