Bohol emerges as 2024’s hottest destination in the PH—Agoda

When asking about travel preferences in the Philippines, most people would recommend either Palawan or Boracay. While these destinations are truly remarkable and worth recommending, there are also equally scenic spots that deserve a place on your travel bucket list this year.
Travel platform Agoda recently released its 2024 New Horizons List in the country and Bohol, Siargao, and Davao emerged as the hottest destinations for both domestic and international travelers this year.
Nestled in Central Visayas and known for its Chocolate Hills and tarsiers, Bohol takes the lead with a 72 percent surge in interest, according to the platform’s year-on-year search data.
Meanwhile, Panglao, an island in Bohol, also receives recognition from Booking.com as one of the trending global destinations for 2024.
Claiming the second spot on the list is Siargao, often hailed as the surfing capital of the Philippines. With a 32 percent rise in searches, Siargao’s waves and laid-back charm are surely capturing the hearts of adventure seekers worldwide.
Davao, the country’s third largest city and the gateway to Mindanao, secures the third position with a 23 percent increase in searches. This bustling city stands out for its harmonious blend of greenery and sea, offering travelers urban and natural delights.
Completing the New Horizons list are Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro, two destinations that are set to shine brightly on the tourism map and have their moments in 2024.
Agoda noticed a common thread that binds these rising destinations—they offer multiple attractions and activities for travelers, many of which are easily accessible by public transport.
