Fans are overthinking number ‘5’ in Olivia Rodrigo’s new Instagram post
Olivia Rodrigo is certainly not new to making records and breaking them, too. Apart from that, the 20-year-old Grammy award winner seems to also have a knack for teasing her fans on Instagram by posting hints to what she’s been up to as of late.
Most recently, it was a post she captioned with just a kiss and star emoji. It contains an image of her, where she tagged the accounts of Vevo and Mikayla Lobasso, a creative from Interscope Records. Included in the photos she shared to her 35.9 million followers on the platform was her name with the number “5,” which fans actively pondered on in the comments.
Fans guessed if she would be releasing a music video for “ballad of a homeschooled girl,” the fifth track on her sophomore album “Guts” because of her posting the number.
Meanwhile, the last picture in her recent post features her sporting a high-ponytail with a bold red lip—it’s her look for the recent Governor’s Awards where she donned a vintage YSL gown.
Rodrigo’s appearance in the last picture made fans wonder whether the singer-songwriter was teasing a possible collaboration with Ariana Grande as the latter is known for her high-ponytail looks, who also recently has been posting about a comeback in 2024 since “Positions” in 2020.

On the red carpet, the former Disney star in conversation with Variety also opened up about her desire to return to acting, sharing that she would love to star in a film. “I really want to do a coming-of-age thing maybe before I’m actually of age.”
“I just love telling stories, whether that be in a song or movie, that’s really something that really excites me.”
The “Get Him Back!” singer, who was among the 2024 Gold List honorees for her work in “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” (where she got awarded best original song), opened up about her intent to collaborate with Noah Kahan, too.
“I love Noah Kahan, I think he’s so great, and he’s very inspiring.” Rodrigo exclaimed. After Rodrigo covered Kahan’s song “Stick Season” in October, the latter also performed the former’s song “Lacy” from “Guts.”
While there isn’t a solid reveal on any new release yet, she is definitely up to something and is surely not stopping anytime soon—we surely can’t catch her now.
