Nicole Scherzinger to make Broadway debut in ‘Sunset Boulevard’
Nicole Scherzinger has garnered years’ worth of acclaim and experience as a multifaceted performer. She and the Pussycat Dolls rose to fame as some of the most prominent pop girls of the early 2000s.
She’s also brushed shoulders with some of the world’s most seasoned musicians as a judge on “The Masked Singer.” Her feats as an artist, which have flourished for over a decade, prove that there’s always a stage fit for her talent no matter the audience.
Scherzinger’s latest artistic undertaking? Her Broadway debut—in an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, no less.
In the London revival of “Sunset Boulevard,” Scherzinger took on the lead role of Norma Desmond—a legendary character that Broadway icons Glenn Close, Patti LuPone, and Betty Buckley previously brought to life.

Scherzinger first performed in “Sunset Boulevard” last year alongside her West End co-stars Tom Francis, Grace Hodgett-Young, and David Thaxton. The show ran for 16 weeks from Sept. 16 to Jan. 6.
Daily Mail deemed the musical “the show of the year” while Scherzinger received glowing reviews for “smashing it” as Norma. Scherzinger even won Best Musical Performance for her character at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards last November.

This year, fans and critics alike can now see Scherzinger as Norma in the flesh. No exact dates have been revealed yet, but there have already been talks of “Sunset Boulevard” opening this November at the St. James Theater.
Visionary director Jamie Lloyd is at the helm of reimagining the original “Sunset Boulevard,” which made its first rounds on Broadway in 1994. The production is based on the 1950 film of the same name.
Will Lloyd’s new contributions to the 2024 revival become a much-needed redemption arc after Webber’s “Bad Cinderella” fell flat in 2021? Guess we’ll have to stay tuned to find out.
