With travel making a robust comeback this year, Filipinos are venturing beyond conventional tourist spots, with Sorsogon City in Bicol claiming the throne as the top local holiday destination for 2023, surpassing popular choices like Palawan and Boracay.
Following closely behind Sorsogon is San Felipe, Zambales, and the unexpected inclusion of Las Piñas City in Metro Manila.
Internationally, Filipino travelers are captivated by the allure of Japan’s cities. Taito in Tokyo takes the crown as the most searched international destination, celebrated for its multifaceted charm.
Meanwhile, Shinjuku and Osaka have also made into the list of sought-after international hotspots, proving Filipinos’ love to take trips to the land of the rising sun.

Airbnb’s data is based on the increase in searches conducted between Jan. 1 and Sept. 15 for check-ins scheduled between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31 of this year.
