In the gray space between love and friendship, where feelings are tangled but words are left unsaid, situationships find their home.

It’s today’s generation’s term where a situation is filled with almosts and maybes, and where hearts hover in uncertainty, leaving a quiet ache for what could have been but never quite was.

As he travels across North America on his “Fantasy Tour,” the Toronto-based singer-songwriter recently released his latest single on various digital platforms on Nov. 24 (PHT).

But, this track isn’t entirely new to avid fans, as it’s one of the tracks that has already graced the stage during his performances on the ongoing tour.

Just days before the official release, the “Another Soul” performer took to Instagram to share the cover art with the caption, “If you’ve caught me on tour this year, thank you for the love on this song <3 now, Ontario won’t have any excuses for not knowing the words.”

This sneak peek not only stirred anticipation among fans but also hinted at a special connection between the track written by him and those who’ve shared the live experience during the tour.

Through his public channel, he then expressed a desire for the Ontario and Kingston audience to join him in singing the song.

However, the Kingston crowd might miss out on the live rendition of “Treat Your Friends,” as regrettably, the artist had to cancel the show on Nov. 23 to prioritize his health.

In an Instagram post, he wrote that during the East US leg of the tour, he has been grappling with recurring sickness, which has been challenging his stamina and voice.

“It’s safe to say that it’s completely hit me now and I won’t be able to perform tonight,” he continued. “It’s taken me a while to come to terms with the decision, and this is the only way to continue the rest of the shows sustainably.”

As the lyrics say “please don’t tell me this is how you treat your friends,” Mico stands as the first to refute such sentiment, as when it comes to his relationship with his listeners, he’s sure and committed.
