Based in Los Angeles, Sugar & Grace was founded by Grace Baral in 2000. It specializes in freshly baked Filipino treats, with a particular focus on the beloved sweet purple yam.

UCLA Bruins can now discover a variety of Sugar & Grace baked goods including the ube white chocolate fudgy brownie, ube crinkle cookies, double-streusel ube toasted coconut coffee cake, fluffy ube streusel milk buns filled with sweet ube jam, and the beloved gluten-free ube biko de yema cups, featuring a delicious sticky rice cake topped with a sweet and creamy custard.

Sugar & Grace’s commitment to quality extends to their ingredients, with some directly sourced from their country of origin. For instance, they use culinary-grade matcha from Japan and purple yam from the Philippines. Their Japanese bread-making method results in pillowy-soft bread with a moist and fresh crumb, a testament to the care and craftsmanship that goes into each loaf.

This partnership between ASUCLA restaurants and Sugar & Grace brings a fusion of flavors that bridges diverse culinary traditions with the UCLA community, enriching the campus dining experience.
