Lea Salonga, Dante Basco, and others will join the voice cast of Disney’s ‘Firebuds’ season 2

Disney’s popular animated children’s series “Firebuds” is gearing up for its second season, and it’s bringing even more Filipino talent to the forefront. Filipino musical theater icon Lea Salonga, along with other Filipino-American stars, will be part of the voice cast for the new season.
“Firebuds” is an animated series that follows a group of young children, the offspring of first responders, and their talking vehicle companions as they discover the true essence of heroism. Each episode features two 11-minute stories and at least one new original song, adding a musical touch to the adventures.
Lea Salonga, a Disney Legend awardee known for providing the singing voices of Princess Jasmine in “Aladdin” and Mulan in “Mulan,” will join the cast as a character named Yolanda. Beyond her Disney contributions, Salonga’s illustrious career includes being a Broadway producer for “Here Lies Love.”
She has also been recognized with the Gold Legend Honor at the Gold Gala in the United States and was named a TIME100 Impact Awardee by TIME magazine.
Dante Basco, who famously portrayed Rufio in “Hook” and has an impressive career in film and voice acting, is also joining the cast as Caesar Bayani. Basco’s dynamic voice acting skills and charismatic presence make him an exciting addition to the “Firebuds” team.
Furthermore, Filipino-American stars Lou Diamond Phillips and Vivian Vencer are among the lead cast members of the series. Krystal Banzon, a Fil-Am writer, contributes as one of the story editors.
