Google expands opportunities for Filipinos with free AI course

Google Philippines has introduced a free artificial intelligence (AI) skills development course through Google Cloud, aiming to make AI and machine learning education accessible to more Filipinos. 

This online AI learning course is part of Google’s commitment to help individuals acquire job-ready skills in high-demand digital fields.

The AI learning course covers a wide range of topics, including generative AI, responsible AI, and machine learning. Upon completion, learners can further pursue machine learning and data science courses, enhancing their proficiency in these sought-after skills for employers.

Google’s commitment to skills development doesn’t stop at AI education. It is also supporting early-stage AI startups in the Philippines through its Google for AI Startups Cloud Program. Eligible startups, whether they are pre-seed or have received seed to Series A funding, can access cloud credits of up to $350,000 (approximately P20 million) over two years. This support aims to alleviate some of the challenges faced by early-stage startups, such as limited resources and a higher risk of failure.

The Google for AI Startups Cloud Program offers much more than cloud credits though; it also provides access to AI experts, training, and networking opportunities. Google believes that its Vertex AI platform will help businesses make informed decisions and accelerate the development and deployment of machine learning models, offering a competitive edge in the AI-driven world.

Google creates buzz with more courses

The company has also expanded its Google Career Certificates program to include additional courses in business intelligence, advanced data analytics, and cybersecurity. These certificates, designed to prepare individuals for high-growth digital careers, enable people from diverse backgrounds to acquire job-ready skills. Google has shown its commitment to this initiative by providing over 6,000 career certificate scholarships in the Philippines, with more scholarships on offer this year.
