Meet ‘Good Day Oregon’s Mia Villanueva

Oregon television viewers are familiar with the visage of Mia Villanueva, a Filipino American reporter and anchor of Fox12 Portland’s Good Day Oregon.
She began her journalism career as a writer for the ABC’s Portland affiliate. But her most recent prior stint was in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There, she was a reporter on Good Morning Colorado for almost two years, covering court cases, education reform, extreme weather, breaking news and real-time impacts of COVID-19 in southern Colorado.
Her first on-air job, however, was in El Paso, Texas, reporting on topics such as immigration issues at the southern border, or the mass shooting at an East El Paso Walmart. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley.
Villanueva was born in southern California and raised in a big Filipino and Spanish family. When not at work, she enjoys watching crime documentaries, and traveling with her husband and their two kids.
