Fil-Am singer Garth Garcia dishes on new music and life beyond the stage
In case you’re unfamiliar, Garth Garcia is a Filipino artist based in California who joined “Star in a Million” season 2 back in 2004 and has since made waves even in Philippine showbiz with his appearance in GMA 7’s “Munting Heredera.”
From starting in his humble beginnings to joining the cast of “Here Lies Love,” Garcia has got some serious vocal chops. “I’ve always believed in balancing my passion for music with my academic pursuits. It’s what makes me who I am,” Garth said in an interview.
His love affair with music started in Davao as part of a church choir before moving to Manila. Although he didn’t win “Star in a Million,” he left mark with his voice and stage presence, paving the way for a promising musical career.

After the competition, Garcia signed with Ivory Music & Video and in 2014 released his debut album “Garth Garcia” featuring the hit single “Masaya Na Akong Iniwan Mo.”
Collaborations with notable Pinoy artists like Jay R, Sheryn Regis, and Jaya catapulted him to musical mainstream consciousness—thanks to tracks like “Together Again” (2022), “Do You Miss Me?” (2021), and “Siya” (2020) had listeners grooving to his beats.

Offstage, Garcia loves exploring the great outdoors, discovering national parks, and hiking. But he also cherishes his deep connection with his fans. “I always make sure I connect with my audience and make them part of the show. I love talking to them before or after performances.”
Furthermore, what sets him apart is his unwavering commitment to incorporate Filipino style into his music. With his own events and music production Starlink Promotions in Los Angeles, Garcia ensures that he is able to bridge both cultures in his craft.

Upcoming song release
Fortunately for fans, Garcia has an upcoming song that’s ready to be dropped. Called “Always in My Head,” the tune delves into the endless thoughts of a man smitten by a woman he couldn’t forget.
EDM artist Stephen Baulig lends his magic to the track, which will serve as the lead single for Garcia’s forthcoming album slated for release next year.
“My two favorite songs are ‘Always in My Head’ and ‘Lifelines.’ They hold a special place in my heart,” Garcia added.
If you want to catch him live, Garcia is joining forces with other Filipino stars Marcelito Pomoy and “America’s Got Talent” semifinalist Peter Rosalta in a benefit concert on Sept. 22 in North Hollywood, California.
