Olivia Rodrigo responds to ‘Vampire’ Taylor Swift theory
“Bloodsucker, fame f*cker, bleedin’ me dry like a goddamn vampire.”
Is there really a soured relationship between Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift?
Since the “Sour” songstress released her recent single “Vampire” a few months ago, fans have speculated about the subject of the lyrics, which ranges from one of her ex-partners to the somewhat unexpected suggestion of the “Cruel Summer” singer.
This “Vampire Taylor Swift theory” has certainly generated buzz on the internet, pitting the two Grammy winners against each other. The lyrics suggest that Rodrigo is calling out a person who could be described as a “fame f*cker,” bleeding her dry like a vampire.”
“How do I answer this?” In the middle of the “Taylor Swift theory,” this is the exact phrase Rodrigo said in an interview with The Guardian. “I mean, I never want to say who any of my songs are about. I’ve never done that before in my career and probably won’t. I think it’s better to not pigeonhole a song to being about this one thing.”

According to The Guardian, Swift and Rodrigo’s friendship appeared to fizzle out after the release of Rodrigo’s 2021 album “Sour,” primarily due to copyright issues. She was credited as a co-writer on “Deja Vu” after the “Driver’s License” singer shared about how influential Swift’s “Cruel Summer” bridge was on the song.
Adding to the growing fan speculation, Swift recently invited Sabrina Carpenter, the rumored other party in the “Driver’s License” heartbreak song of Rodrigo, to support her Eras tour.
But the 20-year-old Disney alum notes that she was surprised when people thought that the song is about Swift.
