Sitting around during the weekends doesn’t sound fun. But if you’re near Airdrie in Alberta, Canada you can celebrate culture and pride at the Filipino SummerFest 2023 on Aug. 13, 10 a.m. at the Nose Creek Park.

A happy hubbub of laughter, a park drenched in sunshine, and epic Filipino games—that’s the Filipino SummerFest for you. This is the second time that the festival will take place since 2019 before COVID-19 suspended pretty much all in-person activities.

Organized by the Filipino Association of Airdrie (FAA), the group is on a mission to encourage families to participate outside and relive the joy of outdoor fun.

The FAA envisions the Filipino SummerFest to be a lasting legacy that unites Filipinos in Airdrie annually. “We want to do it every year to make it big… It’s like an anniversary to meet, socialize, and interact with other friends,” said Brosoto.
