Spotify’s new feature reveals your top picks among Taylor Swift eras
If you’re a dedicated Taylor Swift fan or even just somebody who listens to her music from time to time, you would know that she has this inexplicable ability to produce hits that sound like she dug into our souls and pulled out our most obscure emotions.
For some reason, every album under her name seems to perfectly coincide with a specific chapter of our lives—quite like a soundtrack to our personal films. Whether it’s a messy breakup, a memorable chance encounter, or a moment of self-reflection, the singer-songwriter has consistently provided melodies to match our sentiments.
And what do we do when we find music that speaks to our souls? We hype them up and make them our personalities.
Introducing “My Top 5: Taylor Swift’s Eras”
Spotify—being the musical enabler that it is—has decided to indulge this T.S. fixation by launching a new interactive feature. With “My Top 5: Taylor Swift’s Eras,” Swifties (and casual listeners) can curate their top five Swift albums solely based on their own criteria.

The process is simple, really. You visit the link through your mobile device, and wait until it redirects you to the Spotify app. (Make sure you have the latest version installed. The feature won’t work otherwise.) Once your app has fully loaded, you’ll then be prompted to handpick your top five best T.S. eras.

Now, you might wonder, “How on earth am I supposed to choose just five?” Trust us; we know the feeling all too well. It’s a task that may or may not cause a minor existential crisis—but don’t overthink it. Just pick according to your gut. Or whims. You can even use a random generator if that would make you feel better.
After narrowing it down (and maybe shedding a tear or two in the process), Spotify will take over and transform your selection into a shareable art card. Think “The Eras Tour” promotional poster, but only with your favorite Swift albums. That’s pretty much how the card looks.
Your “true” top five T.S. eras exposed
Here’s the catch: Spotify seemingly knows our tendencies to play favorites. I mean, who doesn’t have a few albums they’d defend to the grave, right? That’s why the streaming service also added an option to sort your top five based on your listening activity.
Yes, your most-streamed Taylor Swift eras—practically your true colors.
No judgment here, though. After all, we all have that one era that just hits differently—depending on the day, mood, or which retrograde we’re in. So, don’t be embarrassed if your Top Five (Listening Activity Version) ends up not being the same as your personal picks.
