Man whose Fil-Am wife died when SF house blew up arrested for murder
The man accused of causing a horrific explosion that that killed his Filipina American wife and demolished their home in San Francisco earlier this year was rearrested June 15 on suspicion of murder.
Darron Price, 53, will be charged with murder after prosecutors found new evidence in his case, according to the District Attorney’s office.
Price was already facing an involuntary manslaughter charge after his wife, Rita Evelyn Lopez Price, 51, was killed and her caretaker was severely injured after the rented house in the Sunset District blew up on February 9.
Rita Price was staying at home on a wheelchair after being permanently disabled by a stroke eight years ago. Her caretaker was with her, but the couple’s teenage children were not home during the explosion.
