Breaking a new landscape, the 203 Tony Awards witnessed the heartfelt watershed of the Best Featured Actor and Best Lead Actor in a Musical that nonbinary performers won.
J. Harrison Ghee from “Some Like It Hot” won Best Lead Actor, who identifies as pansexual or nonbinary. Moreover, Alex Newell led a captivating role in Shucked and bagged the title of Best Featured Actor.
In addition, these winners are proud of their gender non-conforming identities. These impressive victories are proof of the growing diversity and inclusivity even in the world of theater.

Revealing the Snubs and Unexpected Scenes
The biggest snub of Tony Awards 2023 was “& Juliet.” While this jukebox musical gained nine nominations, it went home with zero winnings.
In addition, other notable productions include A Doll’s House, Ain’t No Mo,’ and Into the Woods. Each had six nominations but also left the awards night empty-handed. Fat Ham, Cost of Living, and Camelot, with five nods, also faced the same fate.
