Filipina nominated to top leadership of Canadian Nurses Association
A highly trained clinical nurse specialist at Fraser Health has been nominated to board of directors of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA ). The CNA represents Canada’s 460,00 regulated nurses across Canada.
Victoria Casas-Alcuaz, currently the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for the Frail Elderly-Older Adult Network of Fraser Health and a Consultant CNS for George Pearson in Vancouver Coastal Health, will be among nominees to be elected in the association’s annual general meeting on June 15, 2023.
“Thank you so much for all your support, the opportunity to put forth my voice to this higher calling, and the bigger work continues,” says Alcuaz in acknowledging the nomination.
“My goal is to be a strong advocate for those who will be recruited from overseas – the IEN’s like me who will be thrown in the workforce with very little support,” she adds. “I want to ensure they succeed and stay for the next generations to come. This is my vision for this role.”
