Jon Bernthal Returns as Punisher in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
Jon Bernthal is confirmed to return as Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher, in Disney’s upcoming superhero series “Daredevil: Born Again,” much to the delight of fans worldwide.
The Punisher is a fan-favorite character from the Marvel Comics universe, known for his brutal and unyielding quest for justice.
The character has been portrayed on screen several times, with actors such as Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane, and Ray Stevenson taking on the role.

However, Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of the Punisher in the Netflix series: Daredevil genuinely captured the essence of the character.
‘The Punisher’ is Back
Bernthal is said to be returning to play his role in the company of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, as reported by various unnamed sources.
Although there was no confirmation of its exact release date, Daredevil: Born Again will debut on Disney+ in 2024.
The series will depart from its previous format of six to nine episodes per season, opting for an 18-episode season instead.
However, Marvel or Disney has yet to confirm these reports. It is still uncertain in what capacity The Punisher will participate in the show and whether there are any significant alterations to its narrative.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ — What We Know
The upcoming adaptation “Daredevil: Born Again” will be based on the 1986 comic book of the same name but with some significant modifications.
While the source material mainly revolved around Daredevil’s battle against Kingpin without the involvement of The Punisher.
It’s not yet clear how closely the series will follow the comic book storyline, but it’s safe to say that fans are excited to see Bernthal return as the Punisher.
His performance in the Netflix series was a standout, and many fans have been clamoring for his return to the MCU since the cancellation of the show.

In an interview in late December, Daredevil star Charlie Cox said, “My instinct is that on Disney+ it will be dark, but it probably won’t be as gory,” before continuing.
“They said to me, ‘We’re going to be shooting in 2023’. I said, ‘Great, when?’ They said, ‘All 2023’. I start shooting in February and finish in December.”
