Foo Fighters Frontman Dave Grohl Feeds Hundreds During a Storm in LA
Dave Grohl brought warmth to hundreds taking shelter during the frigid LA storms as he served freshly-smoked barbequed meats.
On February 23, the Foo Fighters frontman drove to the nonprofit organization Hope the Mission. He brought his massive BBQ smokers and numerous friends.
Hope the Mission’s director, Grace Ancheta, said, “He provided the food and the time and got caught cooking over 24 hours in the middle of the storm last week.”

Hope of the Valley CEO Rowan Vansleve posted a video where Grohl declared he was “all in” in his mission to help folks during the storm.
Vansleve commented on his post, “In the middle of the storms this week. This is Dave Grohl cooking over 500 servings of the best barbecue for those living in our shelters. That’s class.”
Moreover, Hope the Mission director Grace Ancheta wrote in an email to Insider:
“Dave cooked over 450 dinners for several of our shelters and stayed to serve his food to all of our participants at the Trebek Center shelter.”
A writer named Liz Allman Seccuro documented the Foo Fighters’ lead vocalist during his act of generosity and posted:
“So, without telling anyone, Dave Grohl brought his giant smoker and cooked/fed barbecue and sides for 500 folks at Hope Mission in L.A. during the storms.”
“Paid for it all. Worked 16 hours. So, when the aliens get here and ask, “who’s in charge?” Also, Vansleve recalled how selfless Grohl was during the storms.
The Hope of the Valley CEO told The Los Angeles Times, “He turns up at 6:00 PM, and this meat truck gets delivered.”
“And it’s like an obscene amount of food. It’s unbelievable. The guy spent thousands of dollars.”
“He is in there by himself in our little food-prep area, trimming the fat off [the meat], making sure every single one’s perfect.”
“He’s got all of his mates together. They’re backing in these giant smokers. There’s this megastar walking around hugging and just loving on people.”
Pennsylvania Ricky Davila praised the Foo Fighters frontman’s selfless act in a tweet, saying, “I love stories like this.”
