Judge Mari D. Parladé, a Filipino American, was sworn in as Eighth Judicial District Court Judge in Clark County, Nevada during an investiture on Feb. 22.

Judge Parladé worked in Family Court, serving children and families, for over 20 years. In 2022, she was recognized as Woman of the Year: Legal & Woman of Faith by Gawad America Nevada for her dedication to empowering Filipino-American Women in Nevada.

In 2019, Mayor Carolyn Goodman and the Las Vegas City Council honored her as Las Vegas Compassionate Cities Awardee for Strengthening Families.

In 2002, Parlade was recognized as the Outstanding Child Advocate by the University of San Diego School of Law where her name is included in the Children’s Advocacy Institute Change Maker’s Wall.

She has three children with her husband, a United States Army disabled veteran.
