Keanu Reeves Spent an Intense Three-Month Training for ‘John Wick 4’
Keanu Reeves, known for performing many of his stunts, spent three months training for the highly intense action scenes of John Wick: Chapter 4.
“It has been about 12 weeks of training with new levels of action,” he said. Reeves, 58, is returning to the big screen as the iconic assassin in the highly anticipated film.

“John Wick movies are known for Keanu Reeves doing many of his stunts,” says stunt coordinator Scott Rogers. “Keanu’s attitude and talent, handling and reloading a gun, is compelling to watch,” he added.
The Matrix actor emphasized that the new movie was the most challenging physical of his career on the big screen. He went ahead to say that the movie has more action than in any of the previous films.
“You know, nun-chucks, which was challenging… John Wick’s action requires just a little bit more. And you see the effort and commitment from the team.”
“It’s a big show… They trained me up to have what we call the toolbox.”

Reeves had revealed earlier that there was a lot of driving involved in the latest addition to the series and recalled a car stunt that proved to be challenging.
For the car stunt, John Wick speeds through the iconic Arc de Triomphe in France. Reeves had to learn to do a reverse 180 and drift while reloading his prop gun and shooting it out the door.
John Wick Chapter 4 Stunts
Reeves explained, “For ‘Chapter 4,’ we wanted to bring the muscle cars back.” He continued, “We took the car-driving to the next level, which I enjoy. There’s 180s, forward-into-reverse 180s, reverse-into-forward 270s, drifting. So it was so much fun to get a chance to learn those things and to play.”
“Have we gone too far?” Reeves asked rhetorically about the mind-blowing stunts in the film. In the upcoming movie, John Wick faces new foes as he reunites with old friends on his charge to destroy the despicable High Table for good.
Other veteran actors will join him. Some of them are Bill Skarsgård as Marquis, Donnie Yen as Caine, Laurence Fishburne as Bowery King, and Lance Reddick as Charon.
Also on the casting are Rina Sawayama as Akira, Shamier Anderson as Tracker, Hiroyuki Sanada as Shimazu, Scott Adkins as Killa, and Ian McShane as Winston.
That is quite an exhaustive cast if you ask me, and it makes one believe it will be one hell of a movie. Chad Stahelski, the director, has revealed that the film will be the longest in all of the John Wick franchise. It has a runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes.
The movie, written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, was shot in various locations. Some of these include Berlin, Paris, Osaka, and New York City. John Wick Chapter 4 will be coming to theaters on March 24.
