Fans were not expecting a collaboration between The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, but it might become a reality soon.

Recent reports say the Stones called on Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney to work on an upcoming album.

Both bands have not confirmed anything about their latest project, but we have a few details from various reports.

What do we know about the Rolling Stones/Beatles collab?

Variety shared a new report which claims multiple sources confirmed the unannounced album. It says Andrew Watt will produce the collaborative effort.

Watt worked with various music artists, such as Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Dua Lipa. Also, Paul McCartney said in a 2021 interview he previously worked with the music producer.

“I went around for a cup of tea, and of course, we ended up making a track,” told the Beatle. Also, Paul McCartney mentioned Watt while discussing his plans for 2023:

“I’ve been recording with a couple of people, so I’m looking forward to doing even more. I’ve started working with this producer called Andrew Watt, and he’s very interesting.”

“We’ve had some fun…. Beyond that, I don’t have anything massive planned… at the moment,” he hinted.

Meanwhile, reports have not confirmed Ringo Starr’s role in the project. They also say the recording sessions for it took place in Los Angeles.

In 2020, The Rolling Stones vocalist Mick Jagger said the band had recorded “a bunch of tracks” with the two surviving Beatles.

He also said they were “finishing off the vocals and some other instruments on them. “It sounds good, what we’ve already done. [It] sounds pretty good to me.”

In 2022, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards said he and Jagger had recorded “more [tracks] than I can count” during a week-long session in Jamaica.

The collaboration follows after Paul McCartney reignited the mostly friendly rivalry between the two groups in 2021 with this statement:

“They’re a blues cover band. That’s sort of what the Stones are. I think our net was cast a bit wider than theirs.”

The Rolling Stones have not released a full-length set of songs since their 2005 album “A Bigger Bang.”
