The movie’s comedy complements its romance and vice versa. It wasn’t as glamorous or flashy as the rest, but it was one heck of a film.

It is a romantic comedy directed by Frank Coraci. produced by Robert Simonds and Jack Giarraputo produced the film. While Tim Herlihy wrote it.

The film starred Adam Sandler, who played Robbie Hart. Drew Barrymore played Julia Sullivan while Christine Taylor played Holly Sullivan. It illustrates a love story in 1985 of Robbie, the wedding singer. He falls deeply in love with the waitress, Julia.

When Robbie encounters Julia, he vows to sing to her at her wedding. However, he is unaware of what fate has in store for them. They both plan to spend their lives apart.

Ultimately, they both find a way to live happily ever after, thanks to a fantastic in-flight love song and some assistance from Billy Idol, but what comes next?

It is one of Sandler’s best comedies. The movie turns 25, and we are yet to hear what the duo has said about reuniting.

Barrymore recently commented that she and Sandler are “actively looking” at exploring their roles in the rom-com as it turns 25.

Sandler and Barrymore haven’t revealed much concerning a sequel, but they have talked about how much they love working together on the film, including subsequent projects, which include 50 First Dates (2004) and Blended (2014).

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore reunite

Sandler appeared on Barrymore’s talk show, where they talked about the movie that went ahead to inspire a Broadway musical.

During their reunion, they mentioned that “Grow old with you,” was not heard by the actress before the scene was filmed. It was the song Robbie sings to Julia on the plane,

“I was not allowed to sing ‘Grow old with you’ to Drew before the actual [taping],” said Sandler, to which Barrymore concurred, “Not even once.”

“That was my reaction on set for the first time. I did the same with ‘Forgetful Lucy‘ too,” Barrymore added, commending the pair’s musical moment in 50 First Dates.

When Barrymore asked Sandler to pick one of his movies to put in a time capsule, Sandler chose The Wedding Singer after he recollected their first meeting.

“I worked with this young lady one time. I met her at the Newsroom Café. She came in, and she had stylish hair, a little pinkish.”

“She came in, we jammed on a movie idea, we got together, we shot it, we had the best time ever,” he said about The Wedding Singer.

In 2019, Barrymore disclosed that of all the people she worked with, “there’s one that stands out. Adam Sandler just because I want to make movies with him forever,” she said at her Netflix show premiere.

“We just talked on the phone the other day,” she continued, “We talk a lot on the phone, and we were like, it feels like something, I don’t know.”

Barrymore added, “We always get like a time and an instinct thing. We’ve done it three times, so we know we have more.”

The actress teased that she and Sandler are “talking about a potential Wedding Singer reunion. I think it’s time, too. We’re looking. We’re actively looking,” she added.
