Andrew Tate Arrested in Romania in Human Trafficking Investigation

/ 03:22 PM December 29, 2022

Controversial American-British media personality Andrew Tate and his brother have been arrested by Romanian authorities in a human trafficking investigation.

On the morning of Dec. 29, Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan’s home was raided by the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT). The two have reportedly been taken into custody.

Tate’s arrest came after he posted a two-minute-long video responding to Greta Thunberg’s tweet. Authorities were able to confirm he was in Romania due to the pizza chain box shown in the video.

The brothers were arrested in relation to the authorities’ investigation into the abduction of two girls. The home of a former policewoman was also raided in connection to the Romanian police’s investigation.

Romanian authorities have reportedly focused their attention on a number of Tate’s luxury vehicles on the property. According to Antenna 3 CNN, a police trailer is also on-site, potentially to transport one or multiple vehicles.

Tate faced allegations of human trafficking in Romania in April 2022. However, Tate dismissed the allegations, stating that the issues arose from a swatting incident.

“I was not arrested. What happened is I suffered from a case of swatting. It’s very popular with people who are large on the internet.”
