Briony Garbett, NAAMA’s CEO, said in a statement to CNN that the Kanye West tattoo removal initiative has receive “global interest and a great response” thus far.
“It seems there are a few former fans with tattoo regret,” Garbett continued. He added that one client of the studio is facing social media backlash as a result of her Kanye West-inspired tattoo.
The Kanye West initiative originated from NAAMA’s “Second Chances” project, which provides free laser tattoo removals for clients with gang tattoos, hate symbols, or other traumatic or triggering tattoos.
“When you have a tattoo inspired by someone you admire and they start making headlines for all the wrong reasons, it’s not exactly something you want to wear on your sleeve that you are or were a fan,” Garbett said to CNN. “With that in mind, we wanted to come to the aid of those who are embarrassed about their Kanye West inspired tattoos and are offering complimentary treatment for all UK fans that want them removed.”
Garbett added, “We understand that tattoos can be triggering for some people and not everyone can afford to remove their tattoos.”
How to Remove Your Kanye West Tattoo
In the tattoo removal process, technicians will use intense pulses of light to break up the tattoo ink. Afterward, the immune system clears away the tattoo ink.
Typically, this process costs around £2,000 ($2,456), though this depends on the size of the tattoo and the number of treatments needed.
According to NAAMA, three clients have begun laser removal on their Kanye West tattoos, with ten more people booking consultation appointments.
