Robredo to speak at Obama ‘Democracy Forum’
Former Philippines Vice President Leni Rorbredo, will join former U.S. President Barack Obama at the Nov. 17 “Democracy Forum” of the Obama Foundation.
Robredo and Obama will be with other speakers including Pulitzer winning investigative reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones of the New York Times Magazine, Dean Jelani Cobb of the Columbia Journalism School, Co-founder and Executive Director Peggy Shepard of the WE ACT for Environmental Justice, Technical Research manager Renee DiResta of Stanford Internet Observatory.
The forum will explore effective responses to the threats that democracy is facing globally, the Obama Foundation explained in a press statement.
The foundation stated further: “We will bring together hundreds of emerging leaders from across Obama Foundation programs, leading experts, and practitioners who are reimagining our institutions and protecting democratic values,”
