Suspect in murder of missing Fil-Am woman to be tried in January
The man accused of murdering a missing Filipino American nursing student in Fayetteville, Arkansas will face trial on Jan. 17, 2023.
Kacey Jennings, 29, was arrested after the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend Allison Maria Castro, 28, in September.
Castro, his former girlfriend is still missing and presumed dead. Jennings is charged with capital murder and abuse of a corpse.
Jennings entered a plea of not guilty on Oct. 19 in Washington County Circuit Court. He is detained without bail in Washington County jail.
Police responded to a call on Sept.19 as Jennings was having an apparent drug overdose in his home. Jennings and Castro previously lived together. Castro’s family reported her missing on Sept.19.
Investigators found “more information” in Jennings’ residence that led them to “believe that the suspect in this case had possibly killed his ex-girlfriend,” Sgt. Tony Murphy of the Fayetteville Police Department, was quoted by KNWA News.
