5 nice things about spring

The majestic sight of winter is definitely something to love. But now that the freezing cold is slowly saying goodbye in some parts of the country, there are things to be excited about the new and most lovable and delightful season.

The lush and blooms. One of the most beautiful seasonal transitions is winter to spring — from the blistering harsh winter to the pleasantly mild temperatures. With the sun out again and the weather warmer, trees, other plants, and flowers start to sport new leaves and blooms. Nothing says “delightful” more than the verdant greens, colorful fields of blooms, and most of all the awakening and return of wildlife! Aside from the breathtaking sights of nature, this season makes it easier to grab some fresh produce from the farmers’ markets. Move over winter wonderland! The bright colors of spring are now taking over Instagram.

Spring break. Who doesn’t enjoy a break from all the mundane? Whether it’s staying at home for some well-deserved relaxation, or indulging in some spring cleaning (sorting out your things can feel surprisingly refreshing), or perhaps traveling someplace now that the snow has started melting, having some free time to do a you please is a great welcome to a wonderfully new season.

Baseball season. Head out to the park, with your bomber jacket, cap, lively cheers, and a handful of picnic dishes to enjoy (hot dogs, tacos, chips, fries, refreshing drinks, etc.) while watching a fun game of baseball on a fine spring day. Fun sports, cheering for your favorite team, and lounging around sounds about right for this season!

Outfits. While spring isn’t always warm throughout the day, being able to wear fewer layers–and feel the warm sun on your skin–is something to be excited about. Winter boots, once again, are pushed to the back of the closet whereas sandals and flip-flops are ready for walks in the fields. The season welcomes a lighter and more refreshing wardrobe consisting of dresses (now without coats or leggings), lightweight knitwear, and shorts (or chinos for a smart yet refreshing spring look).

Outdoors. The shift from cold to warm is too hard to miss. You can’t help but head out for a leisurely walk in the park or sink your toes on the sandy beaches. The season brings about various outdoor activities- hiking, climbing, camping, and more, without the harsh heat or cold chill of the past season attacking your skin. After spending so much time indoors, spring lets you enjoy the outdoors with its temperate weather, just perfect for getting that daily dose of natural Vitamin D.

With the sun out, days are longer and plants are in bloom, you get a breath of fresh air. There is no doubt that spending time outside, amidst all the nice things spring brings, definitely lifts spirits and makes one more creative.
