New passport appointment system at PH Consulate in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO — The Philippine Consulate General now accepts both walk-in applicants and appointment based applications for the processing of Philippine passports.
The service follows the Department of Foreign Affairs’ aim to provide efficient and comfortable service to all Filipinos and the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco’s effort to “Spark*Connect*Empower all Filipino Americans in its areas of jurisdiction,” according to a Consulate press release.
Applicants may still come to the Consulate any time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m as walk-in applicants, but now they also have an option to secure an online appointment on a specific date and hour, to suit their own schedules. By booking an appointment, applicants can come to the Consulate on their preferred date and time.
The appointment system went live on March 21. The first appointment slots will open beginning April 2, Monday. This appointment system is a pilot program.
