Jennie, Jason, Rose and Lisa, also collectively known as BLACKPINK have officially released their comeback song, Pink Venom. Marking the start of the Born Pink era, the K-Pop superstars released the single off their forthcoming album.

The K-pop superstars’ second album, Born Pink was set to release on Sept. 16. But since BLACKPINK wants their fans to get a hint of what to expect on their next album, they released the lead single a month before the launch of the whole content. With their huge fanbase, BLINK is ready, and they can’t wait for more.

On top of the highly-anticipated release of Born Pink, the album has already gathered more than 1.5 million pre-sales. In addition, BLACKPINK’S first ever performance at MTV VMAs will follow later this month. While their Born Pink world tour will commence this October. And their management has also released their world tour schedule.

Pink Venom details

To let you in on a tinge about their new song Pink Venom, the song starts with a soulful voice chanting the K-pop superstars’ names. Then, it will explode into a lively rap. A flashing electronic beat combined with a guitar and Middle Eastern percussion backed the rap part.

Pink Venom features BLACKPINK singing their signature dances with futuristic backdrops. All this while each member has their chance to show off their different styles in every verse. Lisa and Jennie joined for a momentous segment for the second verse. It depicts 90s hip-hop videos.

Lisa mentioned in that verse, “Black paint and ammo, got bodies like Rambo/Rest In Peace, please light up a candle. This is the life of a vandal, masked up and I’m still in Celine/Designer crime or it wouldn’t be me.ooh.”

Furthermore, though hints are just shared in advance, fans are curious to know what’s in store for them. A video promo for the track already had 20 million views. In collaboration with YouTube Shorts, BLACKPINK also announced a #PinkVenomChallenge. This aims to urge fans to film and then upload their own version of Pink Venom’s flashy choreography.

In May, the group shared in a Rolling Stone interview, “we are involved from the beginning, building blocks, adding this or that feeling, exchanging feedback. And this process of creating makes me feel proud of our music.”
