For not getting his hands on the prize, a 4-year-old boy decided to put matters into his hands as he crawled up his way inside a claw machine — only to get himself stuck afterward.

In a Facebook post by the Titusville Fire and Emergency Services on Wednesday, the boy, named Mason, is shown inside the machine. The post read that he, his mother and some of his friends were enjoying dinner when the boy decided that he wanted a stuffed animal.

The child got out as one of the lieutenants was present in the same area and quickly assisted him. Two firefighters were also present in helping Mason out of the machine, with minimal damage done to it.

Recalling the incident, the firefighters said they remained calm while the boy was “mildly agitated.”

“We know what our tools can do,” Lt. Michael Abernathy told Florida Today on Thursday. “We arrived and we knew we couldn’t pop the glass because that could injure the boy.”

Meanwhile, Mason “became more distressed when we started ripping open the machine,” he added. He was out of the machine unharmed and got his prize — a stuffed football along with three other prizes.

Titusville Fire Department Battalion Chief Greg Sutton commended the men for doing their job. “They did a really good job minimizing that.”  Katrina Hallare /ra
