Saringhimig Christmas concerts Dec. 2 and 10

SAN FRANCISCO — The Philippine Saringhimig Singers will perform in two Christmas concerts December 2 and 10.

Under the direction of George Hernandez, this internationally renowned choir is composed of alumni from UP Madrigal Singers, UP Concert Chorus, Ateneo Glee Club, UST Chorale and many other university groups in the Philippines, now residing in the Bay Area.

To be performed are Christmas classics: Lauridsen’s Magnum Mysterium, Oh Come Emmanuel, Joy to the World; negro spirituals Everytime I feel the Spirit, Ole Time Religion; Filipino Christmas songs Pasko Na Naman, Simbang Gabi, Pasko Na Sinta Ko); and many more.

December 2 at 7 p.m. Sacred Heart Church, 4025 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Oakland, California. Donations accepted.

December 10 at 3 p.m. Our Lady of Mercy Church, 1 Elmwood Drive, Daly City, California. Joint concert with Our Lady of Mercy Children’s and Concert Choirs. Tickets $15.
